Fertilization, Weed Control, Fungicide, Insecticide, etc. application on turf
Maintain working condition & cleanliness of truck and equipment (spreader, tanks, pumps, etc.)
Landscape maintenance duties
Tree inspections and treatments
Continued development/education of job knowledge (pesticides, safety, equipment, ect.)
Problem solving

Full Job Description

The CITY OF GIBBON seeks qualified candidates for their Utility/ Maintenance Worker position. Applicants need to have a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and be willing to work well with our team. A successful candidate must live within a reasonable distance from City limits and be able and willing to pass the necessary tests for water and sewer certifications in a timely manner. Experience with public utilities and maintenance preferred, however, the City will train the right person. Duties for this position include testing, repair and maintenance of the municipal streets, water and sewer systems. Other duties include snow removal, occasional heavy lifting, light construction, heavy equipment operation, general labor and upkeep of City owned properties and equipment. The hourly rate ranges between $15.00 and $19.00 depending on qualifications, experience and motivation.
